Gucamole - Smashing Success

After last night's chickpea disaster, it was good to have a successful cooking experience with the new recipe I tried for hand-smashed guacamole. And what a success it was!  I took one ripe avocado (peeled and pitted), forked it into smooth perfection, then added a can of green chili peppers, one clove of chopped garlic, a handful of fresh cilantro, minced shallots, and several generous twists of freshly ground black pepper.  The end result was a mouthful of hot loveliness that kept us reaching for more.  Served with freshly made parmesan and garlic chips, it was the perfect Sunday night appetizer.
