Any woman knows that shopping for a pair of jeans is an exhausting and time-consuming affair! The times when I have walked into the mall for a pair of jeans and come back out with that same item on the same day are rare indeed. Today was not one of those lucky days.
I took off for the mall this morning, excited to have some time alone and looking forward to finding a chic pair of jeans. Within the first 15 minutes, I had found a great pair of leather shoes at Dillard's that were reduced to an affordable $13, but no jeans.
Next, I tried on various lip glosses and found a very impressive one called "Beach Bunny", which I happily purchased and pocketed. But no jeans.
I browsed through all the sale racks at my favorite department stores. I even went to my not-so-favorite-stores. No jeans. At least none that made me feel chic and smashing and wonderful.
Finally, I went to Express, which has been my 'no-fail' store to shop for jeans. I eagerly pulled two pair off the sale rack and headed for the dressing room. One look at my rear view in the mirror sent me scurrying to put those jeans back on their hangers and back on the rack where they waited for the next customer with a better derriere to show than mine.
By this time, I was quite weary of shopping for jeans and critiquing my figure in dressing room mirrors, so I left the mall with my bargain leathers and lip gloss.
There's always another day to shop for jeans.
So you got the...um...and you bought some...but why did you...I mean why didn't you just...well, weren't there...couldn't you find...okay, I don't get --
ReplyDeleteOh now I get it. It's like when you can't find a movie you like at Blockbuster so you just buy chips and beer instead. No?
I'm just gonna go now. (munch munch, glug glug)
So yesterday, I went shopping for jeans too. I hate shopping for jeans, but it seems to be a lot easier for me.... I walked into Kohl's, went to the rack, turned around and asked Melanie to read the Levi's number and size to me, grabbed the pair that matched and walked to the register. No trying them on, no looking in the mirror. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. It's good to be a guy...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Naomi. It has only been the past year or two that I can manage to find jeans that fit & that I like, but it still takes several stores & getting annoyed. The thing that gets me is the sizing, why can I wear a small size at one store & a larger size at the next. I once bought jeans at The Limited and just as I was about to freak out about how big the size number was the counter girl told me that their size numbers are crazy and much larger number than other stores. Anyhow, I can agree with you on this one!
